Radionuclide Angiography Scan
A type of nuclear medicine procedure where a tiny amount of radioactive substance, called a radionuclide, is used during the procedure. The scan evaluates the heart’s function and blood flow while resting and during exercise.
A resting radionuclide angiography scan assesses the heart’s pumping function and ejection fraction while the heart is at rest.
A stress radionuclide angiography scan assesses the heart’s pumping function and ejection fraction while the heart is under stress or exercise.
