Exercise Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is a noninvasive procedure used to assess the heart’s function by using a transducer which sends out ultrasonic sound waves. An exercise echocardiogram is performed to assess the heart’s response to stress or exercise. After resting images have been collected, the person will begin to exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike and the physician will compare these images to those taken right after exercise.
