Dobutamine Stress Echo
Patients who cannot exercise well can use chemicals to "exercise" their hearts. Dobutamine is an adrenaline type drug that causes the heart to beat hard and fast, simulating exercise. The heart can then be evaluated by ultrasound or a nuclear tracer to evaluate the blood supply.
